Our Mission
At the Humane Society of Calvert County, our mission is to provide compassionate care, shelter, and advocacy for homeless and at-risk animals while striving to find them loving, permanent homes. We are dedicated to educating our community on responsible pet ownership, promoting spay/neuter programs, and fostering a culture of kindness and respect for all animals. Through rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption, we work tirelessly to create a brighter future for the animals in our care. Together, with our volunteers, adopters, sponsors and supporters, we are making a difference-one paw at a time.

McDowney
McDowney is a young male Staffordshire Bull terrier. This sweet guy is 1 1/2 years old and 48 lbs with enough personality to light up a room! He greets everyone like that are his long lost friend! He is happiest with people.
